Our family very first 36 rooms hotel was build in 1962 and it was named after my grandfather 洪金買, with direct translation, my grandfather name mean "Buy Gold" in english.  My father was only 28 year old when he decided to take up the changelle in managing Ang's Hotel.

Our hotel will be 50 years in operation by 2012.  Ang's Hotel was build one year before Sabah's Independence Day on 31 Aug 1983' and we are one of the first hotel in Jesselton (now, Kota Kinabalu) with the modern elevator, western restaurant, bar, travel agent service.

I always wonder what it was like managing a hotel in the 60's without all the modern office equipment and tools like computer, fax, mobile, internet.

According to Dad, Ang's hotel was a very popular place in Jesselton.  Many politician and famous movie stars have once stayed in our hotel.  During his time, there are not many hotels around.  So, guests will have to prebook their rooms in advance with telegram.  Malaysia Airline are also our guests than.  One of my dad's biggest changelle during the early day was to make sure that there are no over book.

Today, Ang's Hotel is located in the Business Central District of Kota Kinabalu City in Sabah and continue to serve our value guests.

We started a new 68 rooms hotel in 2009 at Asia City Shopping Mall.  It is a modern and serenity hotel with free wifi at the lobby area.
